70.  The Ramones. (LP). The Ramones. 1975.
If ever a band were born to be a cartoon it was The Ramones. Four denim and leather clad misfit punks from The Bowery. The Ramones made their name playing such New York clubs as The Roxy and CBGB's. High octane rock n roll, reeled out at breakneck speed, most songs performed in under 2 minutes as if the band were on a curfew.
Their eponymous first album covered all the subjects that The Ramones were familiar with, 'Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue' and '53rd & 3rd' (drugs), 'Chain Saw' and 'I Don't Wanna Go Down To The Basement' (exploitation movies) and Phil Spector (I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend' and 'Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World'). Cream of the crop though are the The Ramone's own 'Blitzkreig Bop' and 'Beat On The Brat'.
The Ramones took rock n roll back to the garage, locked all the doors and started the motor running again.
